Domaine de Bargylus Grand Vin de Syrie 2017

Domaine de Bargylus Grand Vin de Syrie Blanc 2017 is produced by Domaine de Bargylus, Syrias most renowned wine estate, owned by the Saad family with the guidance of consultant winemaker Stphane Derenoncourt. The vineyards are located on the slopes of Mount Bargylus near the Mediterranean coast at elevations of around 900 to 1,200 metres. Planted on limestone, clay and flint soils, the site benefits from cooling sea breezes and significant day-night temperature variation, which preserve freshness and aromatic clarity.

The 2017 Grand Vin de Syrie Rouge is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Grapes are hand harvested and vinified with precision to balance ripeness and freshness, followed by ageing in oak to develop complexity and texture. The wine shows aromas of dark berries, black cherry, spice and subtle savoury notes, with firm yet polished tannins and a long, balanced finish. It pairs well with grilled lamb, slow-cooked beef, game dishes or richly spiced Mediterranean cuisine.
