This 100% Gamay from Domaine Gilles Paris can be traced back to Beaujolais, France. Back in the early 2000s Gilles Paris, winemaker and founder, moved to Chiroubles with his now ex-wife, where her family had already planted vines. Working on growing the estate, he produced his first wine in 2005. Vieilles Vignes is a wonderful old world expression of Gamay from 70 year old vines. This wine is beautifully structured and refined with notes of dried cherry, leather, and rich plum. Duck with plum sauce and beef stroganoff are perfect food pairings for this wine.
