Les Fichots is a top Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru. The elegant and fleshy wine is both robust and close to its fruit. It has excellent ageing potential and pairs willingly with all types of roast meat.
This premier cru is a beautiful terroir: the topsoil is 70cm deep, lying above hard limestone rock and a layer of clay. The vines sit on a flat terrain that overlooks the valley between the slopes of Corton and Pernand. It offers a lovely tannic structure and red fruit expression. The wines are powerful and chiselled. Depending on the vintage, the tannins can be more or less firm, but that does nothing to alter its aging potential. It will be at its best after 15 years in the cellar.
