La Mesma in Gavi, Italy is a certified organic, women-owned winery run by the Rosina sisters, Paola, Francesca and Anna at the request of their mother who did not want to see the land go to waste. The soil here is medium density and rich in calcium, typical of being at lower altitudes. Despite not being close to the sea, the coastal winds still manage to reach the vineyards, helping create a distinct saline minerality to the wines. With notes of Meyer lemon, pear and white peach this wine pairs wonderfully with a seafood paella or antipasto.
