Tinto Pesquera was established in 1975 by Alejandro Fernandez and Esperanza Rivera when they bought a small winery in the Rioja region. Today, the Fernandez Rivera family owns 200 hectares of vineyards near the Duero River and they are focused on exclusively making aged Tempranillo wines. This particular Tempranillo is grown in clay-loam and limestone soils and spent 12 months in American oak barrels. Not only is this wine a gorgeous in color, the tasting notes match its beauty. You will experience red berries such as raspberries and strawberries paired with roasted coffee bean and hints of licorice. Pair this wine with carpaccio or grilled lamp chops.
