Philipponnat family has had roots in the Champagne region for over 500 years, the family’s ancestors once having been winegrowers and suppliers to the court of King Louis XIV. Today the family owns 20 hectares of vines in the heart of the Champagne region and make their wines using the solera process which includes keeping reserve wines in oak barrels and including them with non-vintage blends. Made of 75% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Meunier, this wine is aged on the lees for 3 years versus the standard 15 months. Expect to find tasting notes of wild strawberries and cherries followed by a refreshing finish that showcases grapefruit and other citrus flavors. Pair this with smoked fish or summer berry desserts!
