Pian dell’Orino located in Montalcino, Italy produces only 100% Sangiovese grapes and spreads over 11.5 hectares of land including 7 vineyards, olive trees, gardens and woodlands. They are certified organic and biodynamic with a special emphasis on being biodynamic- all work is done by hand and pruning is done according to the lunar calendar. Hailing from their youngest vines and clay-heavy soils, the Piandorino produces a light, fruity aroma with notes of tart fruit and savory herbs. This medium-bodied Sangiovese pairs well with a mushroom risotto or a tomato-based sauce with rustic garden herbs.
