This wine is called ‘Prugneto’ after the first vineyard that the Ravaioli family purchased. Before they started bottling their wine, they ran a trattoria and a dance hall on their property. A popular destination for fishing enthusiasts, they would often load up the trunks of their cars with “house wine”. The demand grew to a point that Attellio Ravaioli began work on expanding the cellar and the rest is history! This fresh expression of Sangiovese offers notes of red fruit on the nose leading into flavors of dark berry, dried herbs and tapenade in the mouth. A lingering spicy finish rounds it all out. Pair with ravioli accompanied by rosemary and a red wine sauce or mature cheeses.
