Soalheiro, meaning sunny is a nod to the wonderful all-day sun exposure the vineyards receive at this certified organic winery. Family owned since the 1970s, they are the 4th largest Alvarinho producer in the region today. They also pride themselves in innovation including being the first winery in Portugal to receive an innovation certification and for planting the highest Alvarinho vineyards in Portugal. The Vinho Verde region of Portugal also sees near perfect climate conditions for wine growing, especially for this grape. This dry, crisp white is also rightfully named due to the granitic soils found in this region which creates a harmonious balance of minerality and acidity. With tasting notes of stone fruit and a touch of salinity, this wine pairs well with Mediterranean dishes including grilled fish or Asian dishes such as dumplings.
