Vasse Felix Premier Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Vasse Felix, established in 1967 by Dr Thomas Cullity, is the founding estate of Margaret River and a benchmark producer in Western Australias premier wine region, famed for its maritime climate and cooling Indian Ocean breezes that create ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The estates vineyards, particularly in Wilyabrup, are on well drained gravel loam soils which are farmed sustainably with organic practices and minimal intervention. This iconic winerys commitment to quality and environmental stewardship supports vegan friendly production and reflects its deep connection to the land and terroir, where ancient soils and gentle climatic influence shape expressive grapes.

The Premier Cabernet Sauvignon is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 1% Merlot. It is matured in French oak for around 18 months (34% new) to build structure and depth. The wine shows intense aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar and savoury spice with polished tannins and vibrant acidity leading to a long finish, making it superb with grilled red meats, slow roasted lamb or rich cheeses. Hand harvested fruit undergoes wild yeast fermentation and careful maceration to capture site character, delivering a refined yet powerful example of Margaret River Cabernet.
