Founded in 1936 by Eugene Amirault, the estate at the foot of the hills of Bourgueil is now run by Eugenes grandson Yannick & great-grandson Benoit. Respect for the land is key. Each terroir is gardened organically and in accordance with the lunar cycle. The grapes are picked by hand from vines averaging 45 years in age. Fermentation takes place in open oak vats, and the wine is aged for 6-10 months in oak prior to release. Rich & elegant with notes of plum, raspberry, red & black cherries supplemented by savory flavors of thyme, black pepper & bell peppers. Perfect accompaniment for prime rib or roast duck.
